dave, rashid has some personal problems to take care..He will be back again oneday..Thanks for your comments... On IATV- basically watching for three lower lows or two lower lows and an inside day(lower high and higher low) is a Cooper pattern called a 1,2,3,4....This pattern tries to pick out continuation of momentum after a run...The 1,2,3,4 pattern is usually used with stocks who have an ADX over 30, showing they are trending strongly.. Same goes with Boomer pattern..Two lower highs(or equal to previous day high) and two higher lows(or equal to previous day low)... Also Extended Level Boomer- lower highs(or equal to previous day high) and higher lows or equal to previous day low) This Extended Boomer keys off of large range expansion day not previous day... I always look at the directional indicators for my first read on a stock..+D1 and -D1 and ADX...+D1 and -D1 tell me which trend is in control, uptrend or downtrend, and ADX tells me strength of trend.. I like to get stock just beginning to trend where ADX is moving from below 20 to above 20(where +D1 is above -D1) ADX is at 13 on IATV---Below 20 on ADX, you have a trading range stock...I have IATV as a trading range stock..trading right now within the 30 period Envelope channel, 12.50-14.00...Since the MACD Histogram did a reversal yesterday, and stock closed near its high, you have potential to move toward higher end of range, that is 14.00.... You still can use your lower highs and higher lows even when the ADX is weak, as Cooper does with his non ADX 1,2,3,4...... Regards, Mark
