Frank, Thanks for all the good info on the environmental issues related to laser/IR air transmission. On the future of such systems, does the use of laser air transmissions (or microwave, etc.) across national borders make avoidance of fees or taxation possible to the extent that they would be imposed? I ask because I can envision someone like Global Crossing setting up a station (much like a drilling rig) in international waters for transmission to avoid landing fees and such that a cable would incur. That might be more expensive, I don't know. I appreciate anything you have to say about this and continue to enjoy your highly informative posts. Thanks much. CF Rebel
