Thanks for the insight. I hadn't heard of the ONSL-MALL-EGGS rumor. MALL is constrained by their agreement with UBID not to enter the auction business for one year from date of spin-off, so this rumor could have been tossed. As for Russell 2000, I didn't know they were in it. If so, I'm surprised they weren't replaced within a week or 2 of UBID spin-off. But I think it's very much likely that someone who had MALL before spin off finally decided to invest elsewhere - maybe more UBID, and was not savvy enough to do it in parcels. What bothers me is how the first sale of the day was at about $2 lower than the close. Surely there were left over buy orders at close to $8 that could have been filled at the ask. So manipulation is certainly a possibility. If so, the goal would be to bring the price down in order to buy at a lower price. Unless there is a heavy short volume out there, which I can't imagine. Anyway, I think 2 things will cause the stock to do well in the near term: 1. Next earnings report will not include UBID losses, but will include payments from UBID to MALL, and 2. eCOST report will show exceptional growth in page hits and buyers. (Negative side of eCOST is the start-up cost). Longer term there are 2 very big positives: 1. pre-Christmas talk about sales for all 4 of their internet/catalog businesses will be a great boost, and 2. eCOST spin-off will be announced. I'll hold through the shake-outs!
