Bill and Sid: We might consider if the gas infrastructure has the capacity to supply concentrations of fuel cells in neighborhoods. Maybe Sid has come across the ratio of unit gas volume to Kwatt production. If my peak electrical loading hits 10kw, what does that mean on the amount of peak gas consumption. Like xx cubic feet per minute (or Hour) for 10kw.

Bill, your thoughts on being independent of the Grid are well taken. We loose our power at least 5 times per year. I would jump on a fuel cell system at the $8,000 price level. I would expect the gas reformer to be constructed so that I could substitute or switch in my own hydrogen production if in the future it becomes economical. This is another reason the home fuel cell makes more sense, as it provides the possibility of being more independent.

I want to thank Bill and Sid for a good intelligent dialogue.
