>". The defeat of Iridium which was predicted a years ao by many >here is gratifying. Not so fast, marginmike. Iridium is beaten (but not defeated) by the market, or the lack of it. Intrestingly, this is the same unenthusiastic market that I* also has to meet in due time. And "unenthusiastic" is an understatement. Shouldn't be too gratifying, really, not if you are a G* long term investor. It is also wishful thinking of worst kind to think that I* is going away. They are not going away. They have the birds in the sky and the phones on the shelves – they are never going to be profitable, but no, they are not going away. Not for five years. And as I wrote earlier, and nobody seemingly understood (strangely enough seems to happen a lot with my postings), the I* marketing guys have blood in their mouths. OK, so that was a bad translation from an another language in which I think often. It's a colloquial expression meaning that a) they've been hit, and b) they are seriously agitated and buzzing around like blue arsed flies to raise hell and kick some ass & other related americanisms you can think of. And in that particular mail I referred to the fact that I* has global coverage and G* doesn't, a fact that has not escaped the I* marketing machine (although seemingly escaped everyone else). All the talk that G* has 10% of the cost of I* is total BS – as Rocket Scientist noted. All this "they are bound to price higher" – dream on. So its going to be a war. War for the market whose mere existence is questionable. >The profitability of GSTRF will be thrilling! Sure thing, marginmike. It will be very thrilling indeed. - rajala
