Well you have to admit, both the magnetic reversals and precession have roughly the same period. One must suspect a causal link.

As for the magnetic reversal I recall it's rather abrupt. Elsewhere I've read of scientific predictions for a diminishing, then a reversal of magnetic orientation over an approx. 1,500 yr. period. This would tend to rule out a 'global flip' which I think is quite extreme given the violence of it. There would certainly be evidence of such a cataclysm in both the geologic and zoological records.

I am curious though. Considering modern man has been around for over 20,000 years we seem to have come an awfully long way in just the last 2,000 years. Of course, I'm talking about europeans and sub-eurasians here.
