I know it is supposed to be a dig at me, but I don't see his point so its not working. I posted to him that I don't go in for that sort of thing. Not that there is anything wrong with it, just not my cup of tea. Maybe he'll change his tac and I'll see why I am supposed to be offended.

(grin) He's trying to poke fun at conversation on restaurants. Apparently in his opinion you really are into heavy talk if you confine yourself to lesbian worship.

Oh yes, I forgot to tell you I revisited the Phantom Menace (Ep. 1). I still struggle with Binks and young Skywalker, but I enjoyed it much much more the second time around. I simply relaxed and enjoyed the ride.

But I tried to dislike young Obi Won, as DMA seems to dislike him quite a bit. I ended up liking him even more.

By far Darth Maul remains the most impressive character of the film. The guy is lovely, and fights quite elegantly, like a dancer. Wonderful fun to behold. (Lucas should bring him back)

Portman is lovelier than I initially thought, though I yet do not think her a striking beauty. She is much much more regal and elegant than Leia. She does well in the role and is also fun to watch.

All in all, I think myself compelled to revise my rating of the film. When not expecting it to break much ground, and when simply treating it as an everyday adventure film, I find it quite well done.

Next time, Lucas should let us see master Yoda and the character played by Samuel Jackson duking it out with the Federation. If I were Lucas, I would have those folk doing such things that the audience would just go dang bananas, the point being to get everyone to say "Whoa! Well now we finally see why it is that these Jedi masters get to sit in that dang council!" If Lucas has to have the Jedis destroyed and dispersed, he should make it one dang awesome trip.
