No they do not. This is one of many, MP had 3 bad picks since I follow this thread, but a countless number of winners:

CLCX, MALL (upto + 400), DBCC (upto +500%), KLOC(that many), UCOMA (more than 2x), FP (+100), BIDS, CUST (oh, how much? still 4x), AGX, MDM, CFN and many more with such hyperbolic returns that having -50% in one (SBTK or VTR) or up to -100% in another (PVN) does not hurt.

Gosh yes, let's not forget Mr. Pink's SBTK short sell recs at 18. Especially with it opening in the 7s today. Another great example of why a price rise in a short does not mean that the position was a 'bad call'.
