What chance, do you think, that the new CEO will be Waite of Gateway and that it will be part of a merger and/or buyout of Gateway?
I would give that one about zero chance. Rosen in particular was very unimpressed with Waite when they were in merger talks before. Those talks largely fell apart because Waite wanted a senior role at CPQ which almost no one at CPQ or on the BOD thought he could fulfill.

In addition, GTW has strength only in the PC business, exactly the area CPQ wants to de-emphasize. So even leaving Waite out of the equation, I see little reason for CPQ to have any interest in GTW. I believe that the only reason they were looking at them before is because of EP's obsession with DELL, something which none of the current management team shares.
