JUL 15, 1999, M2 Communications - Motegi -- For the first time in its
six year history, a woman has won a Ferrari Challenge race, the series
for customers of the Maranello company.

Keiko Ihara won round four of the Japanese series, held at the Motegi
track. Ihara dominated the weekend, including qualifying a full two
seconds clear of Toru Kirikae. At the end of the twelve lap race, Ihara
led home Shokici Asami by around seven seconds, with Kirikae third,
28.122s down. To make this historic result complete, Ihara also set the
race fastest lap.
