Agreed - except I do think DVD decoder (even with low ASP's) will contribute for the next two to three years more than you're giving credit. DVD is THE most successful consumer electronic product launch ever. And that means something. For some weird reason, the overall market wrote-off expectations for DVD far too soon. It's for real - and the growth is real. But ---- the market still is in disbelief about DVD.

<<If you're hanging your hopes on DVD get out. The ASP isn't there for the volume to smash this quarter.>>

Just for our edification, does anyone have an updated list of DVD design wins? I think CUBE is light on the consumer DVD player market with just a few companies, but has a lot more wins in the computer field. But I think the explosive growth in DVD has been the consumer player market. No?

<<I'm looking for execution on Codec wins, DiviSys wins (ongoing service), and more end to end Divicom system installations including set-tops too.>>

I agree completely. If you go back to some of my original posts on this thread, I've always maintained that Divi set-tops would be the real fuel to CUBE's fire. Now that we have a few design wins, we need more, and a broad digital roll-out.

Where is that low-power codec they promised? If they get that out soon, it could change the face of digital camcorders, especially if low-power rewritable DVD technology develops at the same time. Imagine a digital camcorder recording onto a DVD disc you could play in your computer or DVD deck. I hope they find a way to get some blocking patents on the low-power codec.
