Hi Frank,

If you want to hear blunt, you should check out the 1998 Annual Report. The letter to shareholders section, near the end. I still get a chuckle out of how DIRECT Birck is with his words. Even their CCs are interesting for their directness.

He comments on how far behind TLAB has been in the data networking space. He doesn't mince any words and says TLAB needs to catch up.

IMHO, it's pretty refreshing to have a CEO come out and tell it like it is. But more importantly, act on what he says. I thought the, "X3 by 03" comments (triple sales by 2003 to $6 billion) were slightly uncharacteristic of Birck. But shortly after, they came out with a slew of product announcements that I'm hoping Denver will have time to comment on via the Last Mile.

at first blush, numbers look solid. for example, solly estimated $0.30, $523M in revenue, and gross margins of 59.3%.

if my arithmetic is up to snuff, i show $0.32, $540M, and 61.0%, respectively.
