The canal changes hand Jan 1 2000, Clinton friend General Clark made sure we would get out by that time. No newspapers want to touch this subject. I picked the info up on a search - China panama canal when I read china had landed some J11 in Panama. This all started back in 1997. The canal was up for bid to see who would run it.

The only one trying to keep US forces in the Canal Zone past yr 2000 is Warren (R) from Va.
