The Brits gave the government a lot of logistical and financial support,.... and the Canadians gave support as well (perhaps a little too much). SL knows that much needed western support depends on continuing the relationship with commercial interests. The Nigerians will want to be rewarded for their massive support, and they are a commonwealth country in the doghouse, looking to get back in so they should support western mining interests, perhaps with a cut of the take, for military support of course.

Most countries want some control of their mineral industries. Many African countries want all diamond sales funneled through their government controlled frameworks to insure they get paid their "royalties" and rebels can't get stronger by selling to DeBeers through black market channels.

The wolf is coming into the chicken coup. If the chickens are smart, this can be the best place to keep the wolf, because after he eats several chickens he will fall asleep with a full belly,...then you can peck off his legs when he is sleeping. After that the wolf is happy to eat grain, like the chickens. Hopefully DMW isn't one of the chickens he eats.

russett needs a beer after all this chicken chit stuff.
