Dividend shares will not even be taxable even when sold because they simply do not exist. As there will be no shares of NTOP given to IDTC shareholders, there can be no taxable event.

i would be surprised if idtc dividends the ntop to shares to shareholders any time prior to the ipo, until finding out what ntop sells for.

if ntop is not valued into idtc, i can not imagine hj not dividending shares. also, maybe if idtc is purchased, they will have a dividend?

Whoa- Hawaii was quoting a different poster. I question whether the dividends are automatically a tax-free distribution. In most cases this is tantamount to a spin-off and requires an IRS ruling. If I am wrong about this please let me know.
