Ten,

Amy, that's competitor is not new. Rather, it's just a new version of Cyrix's MediaGX, enhanced with an MPEG decoder for set-top boxes. MediaGX, Cyrix's PC-on-a-chip, has been out for a long time now. In fact, it could be argued that Timna is being developed in response to the MediaGX.

National's PCOAC integrates several chips which were formerly required in MediaGX systems, and offers some new features. The manufacturing/test costs of PCOAC are much lower than MediaGX.

RE: "MediaGX, Cyrix's PC-on-a-chip"

Hi Tenchusatsu,

MediaGX isn't a PC-on-a-chip.

Their PCOAC is a PC-on-a-chip.

I am of the impression, PC-on-a-chips in general, have costs advantages.

RE: "Amy, that's competitor is not new"

Competitive product, not competitor.

RE: "has been out for a long time now."

PCOAC was just released.

It appears Intel is at a disadvantage.
