The real problem is lack of drama. There was a great Simpsons where they parodied the play by play for soccer, and the ball just kept going back and forth, with a final score of about 1-0....

That continued play also makes for boring watching. There is no moment of high drama. As boring as baseball is, there are moments like the bases loaded, full count,etc. Football games are filled with moments like that. The only reason soccer is big around the world is that most countries are poor and soccer can be played on the cheap in any barrio or ghetto.

The best thing about soccer is I don't have to keep turning down the volume every time the ads come on.
