Rubin spoke after China dusted off its threat to retake Taiwan by force if it moved toward independence and raised the ante by announcing that it had developed the technology to make neutron bombs.

I'll be more worried when they start making multiple stage Cobalt Bombs.

Neutron bombs are the ones that kill people but leave the real estate relatively intact and radiation free (after a few days).

Multi-staged Cobalt devices are "On the Beach" style devices possessing multiple megatonnage of explosive power and produce long-lasting radioactive fallout.

But at the heart of all of this is the BLATANT irresponsibility and outright escalatory rhetoric being flailed around by Bejing leadership.

And China has been called the center of Asian enlightenment and wisdom?? Give me a break.... More like a bunch of whining babies crying until they get their way.

Regards,

Ron

By Rubin's statement it seems that we're kinda changing our tune on the 'no independence for Taiwan' creed. Its very interesting because I can clearly remember Clinton's tone on the issue when he spoke in Beijing some months back..... He clenched his teeth while delivering the U.S. position as if he himself were threatening Taiwan with violence!
