Don't you think the populist spin of open access will gather momentum? Are you refering to the "Astroturf Movement" started by AOL and Mindspring? I can't figure out why the so-called consummer advocates and journalists have such a hard time seeing through this "open access" movement to the corporations with the money behind it. If the ISP that was threatening to take over the web with a monopoly was AOL would that scare enough people to call their congress member? Well it is. It is a VERY scary thought. You turn on your TV or your computer and it says "You've got (junk) Mail! It seems to be headed that way. We've been "Malled"....why not be "AOLed". It seems that the only thing that ever suceeds in this country is something that appeals to the lowest common denominator.
On a better note...I've actually got an install date for ATHM service. The Comcast trucks have been all over my neighborhood lately. I'm looking forward to being on the broadband wagon. Remember, if last Christmas was for e-commerce....this Christmas is broadband. This "open access" thing is providing a wonderful buying opportunity.....even if it doesn't feel really great for us faithful longs to see the stock trend down for weeks. We will hit the sub targets and the earnings, by the time the feds pass any bills, it'll be all over but the shouting.
