Navarre Signs Fortune Entertainment
MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 15, 1999--Jim Chiado, VP/GM of Navarre Corporation's (Nasdaq: NAVR - news) music products division, announces today that the company has signed an exclusive distribution agreement in the United States and Canada with Fortune Entertainment Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Fortune Media, Inc. (OTC BB: FMED). Focusing on urban/hip hop, rap, blues, and dance music, the label will release approximately eight albums over the next 12 months, through Navarre.

The first releases on the Fortune label will be 12'' singles by rappers DJ Smurf and Byrdman on August 1, followed by their albums in early September. Artists on Fortune sub-labels include blues singer Wilson Meadows, on Bob Grady Records, and rap group Corrupted Seeds, on Unity Records. A 12'' single by Corrupted Seeds will proceed the group's album.

Chiado says, ''Bruce (Dugan) understands the fiduciary responsibility of a public company. His knowledge of the music industry and street level contacts give him the wherewithal to acquire great talent and makes Fortune a suitable partner for Navarre.''

Based in New York, Fortune's executive team is led by President and CEO Bruce Dugan, an entrepreneur and fund-raiser, who owned Big City Records and previously produced concerts for KRS-1, BDP, D-Nice, and Poor Righteous Teachers. Frank Toro, VP of sales and marketing, and Shawn Thompson, director of national rap promotions, are both former employees of Tommy Boy Records. VP of business affairs, Jonathan Black, and VP of national Blues and R&B promotions, Dicky Hazly, were both formerly at Luke Records. In addition to music, the label is involved in film, street promotions and various Internet Web sites.

''I believe that Navarre and Fortune will do great things together. We share a common goal for the future and a sound business strategy for the present. Navarre is a company with integrity, performance and vision. We, at Fortune, are glad to be part of the family and confident that we can surpass their expectations,'' says Dugan.

Navarre Corporation operates one of the first ''business to business'' Internet E-Commerce web sites, navarre.com, and provides fulfillment for both traditional and E-Commerce retailers. Navarre Corporation's major business groups are: Computer Products Division, which distributes quality consumer software to retailers nationwide; Independent Music Distribution, which is the major distributor of independent music labels in the United States and now Canada; ARM, which distributes major label music to non-traditional retail outlets; DVD Home Video distribution; and the majority-owned subsidiary NetRadio.com, which is the premier Internet radio network, featuring 120 channels of originally programmed audio content at: netradio.com and its online store CDPoint cdpoint.com.

Company Press Release
Navarre Signs N.SOUL In U.S. and Canada
MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 15, 1999--Jim Chiado, VP/GM of Navarre Corporation's (Nasdaq: NAVR - news) music products division, announces today that the company has signed a long-term agreement with dance music label N.SOUL Records, Inc. for the United States and Canada. Navarre will expand the label's distribution network outside of the Christian Booksellers Association (CBA) and increase sales at mainstream retail stores. N.SOUL will release ten to fifteen CD's annually through Navarre, beginning with Lakita's self-titled debut on August 24.

''N.SOUL's track record in alternative markets makes it ripe for crossover potential to major music outlets, where Navarre has a foothold. We are looking forward to this new partnership,'' says Chiado.

N.SOUL is the only dance and electronic label in the CBA market. The company boasts over 60 catalogue titles, including R&B, hip hop, dance, and urban; plus the sub-label, Eclectica Music, which offers alternative, ska and rock music. Artists on the label include Faith Massive, AJ Mora, Nitro Praise, and Deezer D. Founded by Scott Blackwell in 1993, Los Angeles-based N.SOUL was incorporated, in 1997, with partner Phillip Kim, who serves as the label's president/CEO.

''N.SOUL's expansion, utilizing the CBA distribution with Diamante and mainstream distribution with Navarre, gives us a unique advantage, ensuring that our music and aritsts reach fans in both markets. We are proud to have a presence at retail through Navarre,'' says Kim.

Navarre Corporation operates one of the first ''business to business'' Internet E-Commerce web sites, navarre.com, and provides fulfillment for both traditional and E-Commerce retailers.
