IMG Americas Joins Compaq's FutureSourcing SAP Utility Service Program; Joint Program to Provide Added Value to Small, Medium-Size SAP R/3 Customers
PR Newswire - July 15, 1999 12:29

KENNETT SQUARE, Pa., July 15 /PRNewswire/ -- IMG Americas today announced it has agreed to sell Compaq Computer Corporation's (NYSE: CPQ) FutureSourcing Utility for SAP(R) R/3(TM). Through its partners, Compaq is offering small and mid-sized businesses a full range of infrastructure services, designed to maximize the benefits of implementing SAP enterprise-based solutions in Microsoft Windows NT environments.

IMG Americas, an SAP consulting and applications development partner, said it will make Compaq's FutureSourcing(SM) Utility for SAP R/3 available to its United States customers, beginning immediately. The FutureSourcing Utility for SAP R/3 provides around-the-clock server and applications support services from Compaq's Operations Management Center, located in Colorado Springs, Colo. SAP sales and distribution, manufacturing and finance modules run on servers dedicated per client, with the applications accessed via the Internet.

Under terms of the agreement between the two companies, IMG Americas becomes one of the first SAP integrators in the United States to offer Compaq's FutureSourcing Utility for SAP R/3 to its customers as a value-added option. Pricing is negotiable on a sliding scale, and begins at $600 per named user per month for 50 people.

"The information needs of small and medium-size businesses are very much the same as those of the Global 1000. Our customers need the assurance that their R/3 system will be constantly up and running, providing them with the information they need to do business," said Cindy Bernstein, IMG America's Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "Compaq provides them with the means to do that. From a secure data center to a constantly-staffed help desk and more, we are confident to recommend Compaq as an operations management outsourcing partner," she added.

Nigel Bufton, Vice President, worldwide sales and marketing, Compaq Operations Management Services, said, "We're applying our experience with enterprise-class clients to deliver a reliable, scaleable, and fixed price NonStop(R) eBusiness solution for smaller businesses. IMG Americas understands the significant value of offering a proven infrastructure to go with its SAP R/3 consulting and implementation expertise."
