Great tax news for CYMI:

Panel votes to extend R&D tax credit

WASHINGTON — The powerful House Ways and Means Committee
approved a five-year extension of the research and development tax credit
on Thursday (July 15).

The tax credit had expired on June 30. The Clinton administration had been
seeking a one-year extension. Legislation introduced in February would
make the R&D tax credit permanent. The U.S. semiconductor industry has
for years been seeking a permanent extension of the tax credit.

If approved by Congress, the five-year extension would be the longest
since the R&D tax credit was enacted in 1981.
