Michael, Have you seen and read this tidbit?
Paul Metzinger has just informed me that Nanopierce has been contacted by and has set up a confirmed meeting with Taiko Denki Co. Ltd. from Japan. The meeting has been set for July 22, 1999 at the Colorado Springs office and will be attended by four personnel from Taiko Denki. They are coming to the see Nanopierce to discuss electronic connectors.
Paul quoted me a sentence from the letter he received from the representative for Taiko Denki, which stated, "Please may I request the following general meeting structure to introduce both companies and begin the exploratory talks with a view to understanding opportunities for partnership, collaboration, or licensing of your technology to our client Taiko Denki."
What is of true significance here is that Taiko Denki has initiated the meeting and it is usually very difficult to get to these Japanese companies or get their attention.
Info from their web site:

A number of digital media including personal computers, digital cameras, and DVD are connected by the IEEE 1394 standard. There is also the "Device Bay," which uses the new concept of Plug and Play that makes it possible to connect and disconnect devices while they are turned on.
Connectors are subject to circumstances that evolve on an almost daily basis, and increasing efforts are now directed at standardization. As Taiko Denki works on the development of quality products while maintaining communication with diverse customers, it is essential to watch market trends and gather the latest information.
In addition to obtaining a broad array of such information from within Japan and from abroad, we also provide our technical staff and our customers with immediate feedback.
What is more, in responding to a customer request, our sales and technical divisions work closely together from the outset. Based on the customer's information, we immediately organize a project with full-company participation, and comply with the customer's request using a carefully conceived system that covers everything from product concept to drawings, sample-making, new product installation, and after-sales follow-up.
At Taiko Denki we believe that a crucial mission of production is providing the needed technology when the customer needs it. To that end, and in determining the functions and roles of our plants, we set up a horizontal, organic system for the international division of labor while taking regional character and company dynamism into account. Our main office has real-time links with our bases of operation throughout the world so that each plant receives the most recent data. Support by this global system and network has brought about a trailblazing rapid delivery system. What is more, each plant is working to accommodate ISO 9002, an international standard for quality control and quality assurance, and ISO 14000, an international standard for environmental management systems and environmental auditing, as well as to further improve quality, establish systems for fast and reliable supply, show consideration for the environment, and other efforts.
Connectors are undergoing a transformation from "things that electrically connect circuits or devices" to "electronic components with high added value." Taiko Denki has always developed new products from the customer's point of view. Examples of this would be our proposals for connectors that bring about simplification and laborsaving on production lines, and the reduction of components, thereby lowering overall costs, as well as the development of multifunctional connectors with built-in circuits. Behind this, one can find the application of our combined technology development capabilities, which include marketing activities that work through the analyses and studies of products on the market; research performed on new materials and technologies; and the establishment of our system for evaluating completedproducts. These elements now compose a flexible system that can cope with the rapid changes of the times even as each becomes more specialized. The making of products by Taiko Denki, with emphasis on the originality we are so proud of, is the result of prescient marketing and tireless research and development.

It has also been verified to me that there are definitely four brokerage houses who have individual brokers that have made inquiries to Nanopierce for due diligence materials for their review. These are Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, Piper Jaffrey, and A.G. Edwards.
Now Michael can you see why this puts all the pieces together for NPCT in that they have Orga,Multitape,Datacard which includes Meinen-Ziegel and possibly Taiko which would be a perfect marriage to get this company prepared to enter the industry. We all know that miniaturization is the future in electronics. |
