"My conclusion is that AOL is about 3.5 times overvalued"

Absolutely correct mathematically!

However, my original point is: based on the traditional valuation,
AOL is way overvalued last July. So, for an extremely
overvalued stock, I did not take the effort to achieve mathematical
accuracy.

Yet, selling AOL last July has been proved to be a regretable
mistake today. For that matter, YHOO is even more overvalued.
Based on the traditional model, investors probably should have
sold all YHOO shares back in early 1997.
