It could well be earlier than that. It all depends on the price action on K6; the changeover is going to be awfully tempting.

This largely implies several different versions, each with different L2 size. Those designs will be time consuming and expensive. I think the most likely outcome is one with and one without onboard L2.

They will always fill the fabs. Under no circumstances will the fabs be run at less than 100% capacity -- the fab fixed costs don't care whether the fab is being utilized or not. So the only choice is what to put on those wafers. I believe that early on they will decide to switch over hard to what they believe will be the highest margin product, Athlon.
