Technically the ADX is just the (-Di - +Di) divided by the sum of the Di lines. The gap between the lines after they cross overs and the cross overs are just as important as the over all level of the Di lines. I use the ADX because it gives me all this information in one line. If you just use the lines you can easily miss the magnitude shifts unless you expand the time frames. However I will often leave on the -di and +di lines for reference.

I have found that Stochastics tend to be of limited use on most pennies and low volume stocks

I couldn't agree with you more. It would have told me to short/sell AAD 5 times on they way from .37 to 1.50 this last week.

Best Regards
KEITH
