Cisco has a great reputation and is a core holding for internet infrastructure but its got some work to do (some in-flight, 'mid-air' transitions) and has to overcome its now legacy architecture. Juniper has a lot of execution ahead of it but some of the steepest slope of the 'uphill battle' it has already treaded over. Today's data rates are tomorrows access rates (backbone speed becomes local loop speed). >>I would point to the fact that they seem to have a habit of getting into markets late and still winning. I totally agree when speaking of the enterprise market but Ascend/Cascade built a big company without really hurting Cisco and such is the opportunity with the service provider focused Juniper.
