A good post to respond to:

<< I'd say it's more like an online social group with WAVX as the main focus. As an analogy let's consider a fishing club. A bunch of folks get together occasionally and talk about fishing. Someone comes into the group saying that fishing is a silly hobby and only morons practice the sport.>>

OK, you are correctly pointing out that this is more than just an area to exchange information on an investment. It has become a social outlet with likes and loyalties. But, not only with WAVX as the main focus, but instead the mutual support of people who own stock in WAVX. If it were just for discussing WAVX as an investment, then both long and short opinions would be welcome, and held to the same standard. This is not the case.

As evidence:
<<That a bunch of people with a vested interest in WAVX's price decline say that it is a silly investment?>>

Sure, investors who are short want the stock to go down, and thus can be seen as having a vested interest. On the other hand, investors who are long have a vested interest in seeing the stock go up. Both have equally tainted motivations, yet your post portrays shorts as evil manipulators, and longs as a social discussion group.

Whether you call it a club, group or cult, the fact is that this thread is (or at least was) a mutualy reinforcing system, not an objective investment discussion group. And, I don't think that is unusual. Yet, by attacking those with which you disagree, you don't enhance the discussion, and thus your own investment returns, but instead make it more difficult.

And as far as your own personal investment:
<<My WAVX basis is <2. At 14 I sold 1/2 and put the other half in my "long-term bin". So would it be healthy now to sell my other half because the folks on this board are optimistic about WAVX's future? That this company may crash and burn because they can't get their widget in the mainstream? That a bunch of people with a vested interest in WAVX's price decline say that it is a silly investment?
>>

I congratulate you on your past success. Selling half seems very prudent. I am not suggesting that you sell your other half. I am suggesting that you realize that these thread can suck you into a social pattern that is not conducive to good investment decisions. From that point you can then carefully evaluate both the long and short arguments and make your own decision. And after making that decision, you should be open to constant reevalution based on new news.

I am short the stock, but I spent a long time reading this board to understand the long case before making that decision. My position should not influence you. Only the facts I set forth are important. And as of yet, the only real information I have provided is the except from the psycologist. I was giving a warning to be cautious of the cult nature of these threads, which seemed to be very strong on this one. If you can set aside the club mindset and welcome negative opinions, this forum would have a much richer content and investment decisions would be more sound.

Alas, that is not human nature, so I doubt it will happen unless the stock continues its decline for some time. That is the way these things normally play out.
