Teflon, Good plan to get away from options. I am very close to being out of options---i have very little exposure to July95s. My leaps calls are offset by large cash positions.
In effect, i could be considered to be in a cash and stock position only. I plan to go 50% cash beyond next week. MSFT might be one of my few remaining holdings. I am tired of the watch the market moment to moment routine and am ready to enjoy life. The daytrading will be just for some fun and not really to make serious money--if i do make lots i won't mind <g>.
Beyond earnings season, it is not worth playing the market. Better to take a defensive strategy(which to me means diversified and not speculative)---i fear we might see a bear market leading into January----the chances are greater this year than last. But there is the FED, which will stabilize the markets and we may interupt the our bear market. That is why it would be better to daytrade the market (long and short) rather than trying to make investment decisions. We should see some incredible swings in the market and daytraders will love that!!
25% cash should be a minimum after next week(IMHO)---or you better do it faster as the rush to the exits might come sooner this time.

Just thoughts from someone who needs to get some sleep now.
Good luck tomorrow.
