Bill, it seems a slowly but surely manifesting trend. money supply has been rising for most of the year, but has shrunk in three of the past four weeks. bears watching.

You have to take this last week's M2 with two grains of salt.
M2 seasonally adj. -17.7 not adjusted +60.9
I think I'll just have a stiff drink and add it to the long list of preliminary estimates, seasonal adjustments and revisions.

In fact, if you only looked at M2, the CPI and PPI as the temperature of the economy; and the markets' reactions as reflex responsiveness. I would put this patient on life support in ICU! Yet, we know this economy is still incredibly strong. Maybe it is just going into a coma.

It is hard to interpret this week's market action thus far as the speculative blow off end to a bull market move. May be some market historians out there can remember any times when a market became comatose and died.
