"I am comatose. That's how I felt after the 8 movie marathon I pulled way back when. As for war movies...I once witnessed, up close and personal, some very violent behavior. I missed going to Viet Nam by the luck of the draw -- I'd have never made it anyway -- all my respect goes to those who have fought for their country! I would not have been able to serve that way. Anyway, back to the story, I witnessed man's inhumanity to man by way of physical violence in person and for real. For a long time it was not possible for me to watch things like the fight scenes in the Rocky movies, even though I knew what I was watching was staged. I felt what I was watching. Lately it is not so bad. I actually was able to watch Starship Troopers without having to look away (besides RAH was like a god to me while growing up). It occurs to me that not everyone in Rome could fit into the spectator sections of the Collesium. Nor did they want to. Same applies today. PCM
