max, i wanted to send one of your posts the other day to a friend and all of them were erased from this thread..now they are all back..any idea what happened????

Would not exactly say we are in Hog heaven: WASHINGTON (AP) - Struggling hog farmers next month will begin to receive $100 million in aid from the government to help offset low prices. The payments, capped at $5,000 per hog operation, are in addition to $50 million in assistance given to hog farmers earlier this year as they suffered through their lowest prices in decades. Sign-up for the new round of assistance is set to begin Aug. 9 and is aimed at small- and medium-sized hog operations that sold less than 2,500 hogs. Eligible producers will receive $10 per slaughter-weight hog marketed during the last six months of 1998 on up to 500 market hogs. When an industry is declining, it's usually a darn good time to buy. Anyone know how is this issue going to effect STRU short term? Best wishes:)
