Hi Dana,

The method I use to compute the Vertical count po is the Chartcraft method and is a bit different than the one DWA uses. For upside Vertical counts, DWA uses the column that gives the buy or sell signal as the starting point for computing the po. Chartcraft uses the first column of X's in the first upmove following the lowest O reached on the last sell signal. So instead of using the "breakout" column to compute the upside po, Chartcraft uses the first column of X's after the lowpoint is reached from the last sell signal that was given.

HWP's po would compute the same in either case. HWP's upside po is $116.
The po for FCLX is $15.

Have a great weekend.

Bruce

Hi Dana!

Since I don t have any point and figure chart on either Hewlett stock or Packard stock I really cannot give you a PO. Just remember that old axiom that the sum of the parts are greater than the sum of the whole.

then again what the heck do I know?
