Hello Pruguy,

I didn't get that idea. I haven't talked about WebTV at all ... never mentioned it or referred to it.

I'm talking about the Windows platform ... if you go to Microsoft's site and download the Media player (which they push all users to do!) it will install and "take over" the Real media types ... it will play RealMedia streams without requiring the RealPlayer ...

This is the very dangerous spot that I have been referring to ...

I think it's far more dangerous on Windows than on WebTV ... you already know that the WebTV screens are going to be plastered with Microsoft. They do not want consumers to forget who's behind WebTV ... ;-)

Yes ... Microsoft probably didn't get any rights to port the software or move it to different platforms. Also, to operate on WebTV it will probably take significant modifications ... smaller memory requirements, etc.

> Anyone have any solid ideas what this player will look like?

No idea ... my bets are Microsoft will try to tone-down the Real look and feel ... but then again things have changed from this winter ...

Again ... I've never mentioned WebTV anywhere in my posts ... I believe that you have somehow become confused related to announcements ... sorry!
