JC....it would be great to see WIND in that picture! Did a great job connecting the dots, but still left with speculation. Shouldn't be a guessing game, the company or companies should tell us if they are involved.....M

Telefonica enters Mexico with Internet venture
MADRID, July 18 (Reuters) - Spanish telecommunications giant
Telefonica <TEF.MC> has entered the Mexican market for the first
time via a joint-venture agreement with the country's leading
Internet services provider, the company said on Sunday.
Telefonica's Internet subsidiary Telefonica Interactiva and
Infosel, part of Mexican multimedia company Grupo Reforma, would
combine products and services, technology, infrastructure and
know-how, Telefonica said in a statement.
The agreement with Infosel forms part of Telefonica
Interactiva's plan to consolidate its Internet portal Ole as the
leading on-line services provider in the Spanish-speaking world.
Telefonica Interactiva now boasts more than 550,000
subscribers in Spain and across Latin America and over 300
million pages visited each month, the statement said.
Telefonica has focused increasingly on the Internet as a
core business.
Last week it agreed to jointly develop telecommunications
products and services with Cisco Systems <CSCO.O>, an Internet
network equipment maker. And in June, the Madrid-based company
announced a deal with British multimedia group Pearson Plc
<PSON.L> to improve the content of its online products.
Infosel offers Internet access in 50 cities in Mexico. Its
parent Grupo Reforma publishes newspapers including leading
daily Reforma.
