Right you are Tom. Gates equated the influence of cd-roms with the internet in that book, and besides content is now king and we all know how well msft does with that.

Even Seattle star companies like Real Networks get funded by VCs down here (in this case Accel).

>>Seattle, the internet capitol of Washington State

Seattle, the internet capital of the Greater Seattle Area!

Seriously, I wonder what Mr. Morris thinks Cisco's (and Novell's and 3Com's and and and) role is in all this internet stuff ...

>>In December 1995, the Redomond, WA "visionary" Bill Gates published a book called "The Road Ahead". Somehow he managed to do this without ever mentioning the internet in the entire book. <<
Dr TomD, do you know when Msft hit 100 today, it made our Seattle boy Bill Gates worth $100bil?
We just opened up Safeco Field last night, which cost us around $520mil. Do you know how many baseball parks Bill could build?
Not bad for a guy that missed the Internet. Don't you think?
Ps
BTW
Seattle is becoming the Internet capital of the world, while Silicon valley will always retain, it's No1 VC status.
Cheers to you, and John Doerr too.
