On the related topic of selling/renting names, Bank1 here was absolutely raked over the coals by the MN. Attorney General for similar practices this month. Threatened them with law suits, fines, the media had a field day.

Saw a posting somewhere advocating changing your name, address, etc slightly every time you deal with a new organization that makes you give it (can't do that with a bank, insurance co. etc obviously ).

If everybody did that these database collectors would be overwhelmed with redundant records.

"I'm hopeful this can be resolved in a constructive way so Big Bird can remain on the air."

Whenever funding for government TV/Radio comes up they always mention Big Bird which is ironic because if there ever was an example of why they don't need subsidies it's Sesame street, Barney, and some of the other big kids show. These are MONSTER MONEY MAKERS. The creators of Barney are multi bazilionairs! Dozens of cable networks would KILL to be able to run these show.

Media types like the slant though, mean Republicans trying to kill Big Bird. Easier than researching and writing a new story.
