Our percentage as MSFT holders would be reflected in the price of our stock. MSFT shares would own a portion of the tracking stock. If its profitable we make money if not we lose . This would be reflected in our share price. The main reason for this would be to give stock to the employee of the tracked company or division . This would be given mostly as options to hire the best with out giving him or her MSFT stock. If the divisions perform well their stock options are worth more . If they dont do well their stock options reflect this . If they are or were given MSFT stock or options even if they did bad their stock would still do well and that is not a good plan. IMO

B K I liked the following statement. "Mr. Sherlund said the new stock wouldn't significantly affect the value of Microsoft's remaining holdings. The company's market value stands at $482 billion." If a tracking stock is issued, MSFT's earnings will be unaffected primarily because the tracking stock results will be consolidated in MSFT's financial statements. The outcome for issuing the tracking stock will be a breakout of the hidden value of its internet properties. I like it!!! Pass the gravy!!! Regards
