Frank,
Net income did keep up with revenue, just that there were more shares outstanding so EPS superficially wasn't as high percentagewise.

From the press release:

Quarter Ending June 25, 1999 June 26, 1998 Growth
Revenue $529.8 $376.1 41%
Operating Income 23.5 17.8 32%
Net Income 17.6 11.7 51%
Diluted EPS .34 .27 26%
Adjusted EPS(a) .36 .29 24%
(millions except per share amounts)
(a)EPS excluding tax-effected Goodwill and Intangible Amortization

Drop was almost inevitable, barring a huge upside surprise. Stock has been strong going into earnings. Same thing happened with JBL. It'll be back.
