SBC Communications, the U.S. local phone company, agreed to a marketing and
distribution partnership with Hughes Electronics' DirecTV unit, according to
reports.

The partnership with the satellite-television provider lets SBC offer consumers packages of
phone and video services as it prepares to compete with AT&T, the giant long distance
phone company that soon will be the largest U.S. cable-TV operator. The New York Times
reported the news, quoting executives close to the situation.

SBC will market DirecTV's offerings to customers in seven states and provide customers
with a single bill for phone, satellite-television and high-speed Internet access, the Times
said.

DirecTV also has distribution agreements with Bell Atlantic and GTE.

If they don't raise their estimates, it questions that analysts integrity and judgement. IMO, people shouldn't pay to get their services.

If they don't raise estimates, then it's easier for Cube to have earnings surprises. In the past (1996), analysts raised estimated and lowered their rating which was truly "dissing" Cube. It is very good for the stock to have buy ratings with low-ball estimates (just like internet stocks).

Cube is presenting at the Robbie Stephens Conf July 28-29, I imagine that we should hear something from them then.

The drop-off in VCD and China was so hugh there's not much left there. They shouldn't have any trouble meeting expectations with growth in other areas.
