<<A good case could be made for LU selling for 50 or less rather than 77....>>

< Just wait until it hits $100 again.

I wonder how many times I've read a comment like this on the LU thread over the past two years. I think the last person who made that case and acted on it is still licking his wounds.>

On the other hand, we haven't had a correction on the market yet, which IMO is very probably for the latter part of the year. In last year's correction LU went from a high of 54 to a low of 26, a drop of more than 50% (both figures split adjusted).

So it wouldn't surprise me at all to see LU back at 75 and much lower, but that before it goes maybe to 90. So for a short this is a very risky situation. How long is he going to stay short seeing LU hit new highs? That's why it is very important for shorts to be very disciplined (stop losses should help), if not they can really get burned!

In any case, good luck to all, longs and shorts. We can all make money (but not at the same time!).

Michael.

Mark, I understand where Ron is coming from! It's hard when you follow a stock day to day to not get jittery about it getting ahead of itself. The stock market, at times, provokes investors into trading, as many stocks just plain sell-off for no reason other than the price is a bit ahead of itself. In the case of LU, and even CSCO, I believe you hold them, hold them, and hold them, as they are portfolio type core holdings, and indeed, in the hottest sector possible, now and for the next few years. Don't look every day and reap the yearly profits. Nothing is a definite, but in my opinion, these stocks rate that label. Trading in and out is a speculative guessing game! But nobody can say not to cash in big profits when the urge comes! OMHO
