Well, yes, but Luzco was making some pretty big claims: that anyone who isn't vertically integrated will not be successful in the long run, either on the low end or the high end. That is the question. Others, of course, make the opposite claim: anyone who depends on vertical integration is bound to mess up, they are trying to do too many things well and can't possibly keep up, especially in a sector like drives which changes so quickly. Indeed, their argument is that the opposite is true: the trend today is toward more and more specialization, and you let other people do anything that is not your core competency. That is the basis of the ECM sector, which is booming. Everything is outsourced.
