Levy, yes I can. Technical analysis can get very esoteric and in my opinion most of it is very difficult to get a handle on. The reason Point & Figure so profoundly changed my investment life 20 years ago is because of how it is strictly tied to the irrifutable law of supply and demand. This is a concept I can understand and embrace. I understand why we don't buy winter squash in the summer and summer squash in the winter. I try to buy vegetables in season as they, taste better, have a longer shelf life and tend to be less expensive. Stocks and sectors are the same way. What is important is to have some logical, organized way to keep track of the battle between supply and demand because in the end if there are more buyers than sellers who want to sell the stock will rise. Conversely if there are more sellers than buyers who want to buy the stock will go down, great fundamentals or not. And if buying and selling is equal the stock will stay the same. This roadmap is indespensible when coupled with fundamentals. The Point & Figure method is the only method that gives clear buy and sell signals and from these some of the all time greats have constructed methods of evaluating sectors and the overall market.
We could not have grown at an average of 25% per year for the last 12 years if this method was not right. My book outlines it all. Tom
