ECD's WARRANTS TO TRADE ON NASDAQ NATIONAL MARKET

July 16, 1999--Energy Conversion Devices, Inc. ("ECD") (NASDAQ:ENER) announced today that its warrants, issued in May
1998 in connection with a registered public offering of 1,750,000 units to major institutional purchasers, will be traded on The
NASDAQ National Market System effective as of July 16, 1999. Each warrant entitles its holder to purchase one share of ECD
common stock for $17.89 on or prior to January 31, 2000, and for $20.54 at any time thereafter on or prior to July 31, 2001. The
warrants previously were traded on the OTC Bulletin Board under the symbol ENERW.
