but thought IS rhizomatic imho. That is the one metaphor in the whole topheavy bunch that I grasp.

For the benefit of those who did not read the sentence in which "rhizomatic thought" appears:

Since thought is seen to be 'rhizomatic' rather than 'arboreal,' the movement of differentiation and becoming is already imbued with its own positive trajectory.

Observe that the above-cited scholar has enclosed "rhizomatic" (and "arboreal" as well) in quotation marks. Perhaps he was only borrowing someone else's terms! After all, the rest of the sentence does not suggest someone with a gift for coining fresh metaphors. <gg>
