the inet tracking stocks have been spun out of parent companies because the multiple given inet stocks is so much higher than the multiple given "traditional" companies, which, i guess, MSFT qualifies as. but the parent keeps getting cash flow from the tracking stock as it is owned by the parent. so, MSFT spins out MSN, hotmail, etc as an inet tracking stock, and, all of a sudden, the tracking stock gets the same multiple as YHOO and other inet companies. that is the idea, i think. BWDIK?
