Bryan,

Just discovered another 'bug'

In the Portfolio and regarding stock splits.

Should be:
.........If I purchased 1 shares at $10
.........Split 2:1
.........I now own 2 shares at $5 (I know, we all know that)

What the portfolio did is this:
.........If I purchased 100 shares at $10
.........Split 2:1
.........I now own 4 shares at $2.5

After checking another portfolio that I have set up for monitoring, I just discovered that the only stock it did this to is GNET, other splits worked correctly. Odd?

Bryan,

Lots more feedback. From the last 25 posts, I've compiled a partial list of observations which I happened to agree with.

==========================================================

I particularly miss the old Navigation Box at the bottom of every page. It should be carried over to the new site. It could be a customization option.

------------

The new site adds content but adding content adds busy.

------------

I subscribe to SI for "Stock Talk" and its related features. I assume most do.

-------------

For me the one negative is direct access to charts... accessing charts by setting up portfolios are kindof a hassle, and for that matter even getting to the portfolios aren't as easy as they were when they were right up there on the screen at the top.

-------------

Furthermore, I think
that the current beta design is just the beginning...
We will start seeing some great new features soon that
should integrate seamlessly.

--------------

One of the things that Apple Computer understood was that people like a consistant user interface. When SI decided to change it not only changed the things that current members are accustomed to, but broke some expected conventions.

----------------

At least my whining and complaining, and subsequent upgrades will make it a bit more comfortable when we are forced to migrate.

----------------

I think your idea about getting rid of the bottom half of the blue bar deserves consideration. That navigation is already available at the bottom of the page.

----------------

I also suggested the use of formal surveys some time ago. Hopefully they will begin to let the democratic voice of the SI community speak.Assuming..of course..it IS a democracy;)

----------------

The 'new' SI is not focused on the message boards. The message boards are the heart and sole of SI.

----------------

I agree on the second wide blue bar..add a second line of custom choices instead..SI Navigation at the bottom is enough...Put Go at the bottom. I agree with the poster that wants a bigger NEXT button. I use NEXT 100+ more times than I use Go..yet Go is more prominent.

-----------------

The search for SI message boards should be prominent..separate from any other search. We are first message boards..don't hide the message board search.

-----------------

Start looking for what people want, not what they dont like!
Lets hear what people LIKE about SI and SI beta! What will it take to like it even more?

-----------------

Need to do something to distinguish "Private Messages" from "Public" messages.

There is nothing different except for the words"private" and "public" to separate them visually right now. Sure, I could make a conscience effort to check each time, but....

As busy as the beta is, there is nothing to clearly let someone know if it is private or public. I hope they give us the blue shading background for privates in the newer, improved version.
