George <<And just to let you into my thought processes for a moment, I'm taking a critical look at my longer term Dell holdings right now. This isn't about T-shirts and bumper stickers and cults of personality...it's a business proposition>>

the market IS cults, personality, bumper stickers and the internet. This, in part, is the business of the market. First you say MD didn't say enough to make you feel warm inside, then on the other you're saying you're going to make a decision based on a "business proposition". Warmth or business? Vision minus reality (truth with a small t) is no vision; it's hop scotch.

It's hard to buy. You and Ed, being psycholgocically lovey. No offense intended.

ed, George...what is it that both of you want?

Is it a greater public relations dynamic?

Is it an ”Appleization” of the stockholders meeting?

To me, it doesn't seem to be anything other than business as usual with DELL...and I like that – even in spite of a little run up in the stock<g>.

Sometimes this thread seems a little like the Dallas Cowboy fans are when the team is going through a loosing streak. C'mon everybody, this company isn't doing bad at all.

JMHO!

george..."last one in the water is a cpq shareholder"

after you my friend.................cpq with the right leadership is not to be written off as the "t-shirt" set believes......look at companies like aapl, ibm, t, and what iaccoca pulled off with chrysler.....rare for a $40b company to disappear with no sign of ever existing....the cpq/gtw alliance may be an interesting concept...cpq almost bought gtw a while back....it could be done with stock swap...

traverse city....bay still frozen?
