Sage Buys Interliant, Changes

Sage Networks announced it has acquired the
groupware and Web hosting company Interliant for an
undisclosed sum.

Under the deal, Sage will drop its name and become
Interliant. The new company is led by Chairman
Bradley Feld. Stephen W. Maggs is president and
chief executive officer; Interliant's former CEO, James
M. Lidestri, is executive vice president.

Houston-based Interliant offers applications hosting,
groupware and Web hosting services to 2,000
customers worldwide.

Sage, based in Cambridge, Mass., is steadily
consolidating Web hosting companies around the
country. It has purchased approximately 10 so far.
The most recent acquisitions include Digiweb, Net
Daemons Associates and Telephonetics International.
