GAPS and CATS

Curtis,

You bring up an interesting point:
"I thought the "gap" feature of the CATS was on a close to open basis."
Certainly, this is true for the original signal, I would think: A 30% drop intraday in a stock is clearly understandable, a 30% gap is almost unthinkable.(BTW, MCK did gap at the open yesterday--only 1.2%, but that counts.)
As for an intraday gap in a card-carrying cat like MCK that's threatening to signal, I honestly don't know what to say. Ask Doug about it. My instinct, however, would be to play it only, if at all, as a day-trade. Gaps of any kind are a sign of extreme weakness. With a PGDCEB, you're looking for the temporary end of the weakness. I don't see any sign of that here--just the usual frenetic day-trading around a wounded mid- or large-cap cat.
Are you in it? If I were, I WOULD NOT GO INTO THE WEEKEND HOLDING THIS POSTION.
But that's just me.

Ivan
